Quota Hunts

You can purchase them (free for lifetime and sportsmans holders) starting today for fall deer and turkey hunts. They are first come first serve so either get to a license agent or go to TWRA's webite and get them there. Good luck and happy hunting.

I wish the TWRA would make this fall season a hen only hunt here in TN. Most of the areas I hunt have a hen to gobbler ratio that is way out of whack. Anyone else agree?

I agree. We have WAY more hens that gobblers. When we went to MI last spring it seemed like everytime we would see a hen there was a gobbler nearby. I probably didn't see 10 hens the whole trip but I probably saw 5 gobblers. That was the best ratio I have ever whitnessed myself. All you can do down here is make yourself not shoot fall gobblers and jakes. One of the first fall birds I ever killed was a gobbler, but there was like 15 in that flock so I felt obligated. I have also killed a jake on accident before in the heat of the moment pulling the trigger on a family flock, but always try and shoot hens and young jennies. Heck I just like shooting something no matter what it is. I've killed just about as many yotes during fall turkey season as I have turkeys.
