Food plots

Postby Callmaker on Wed May 21, 2008 12:53 am

OK, the turkey seasons are all but over and if you're like me it doesn't take long to start getting fired up about this fall and deer hunting. Some of you I'm sure are getting your food plots out about now, mid May. Me and my buddy Jeff (AKA Hound Dog) put in an awesome plot last year about this time. The deer ate it up. If anyone wants to share their favorite plot recipe let's here it.

We're putting about 15 rows of corn around the perimeter of a 4 acre field, then about 15 rows of soy beans, then bio-logic in the middle.

We've got to wait on a local farmer to spray the field so we can get started :x Hopefully he's spraying today.

After that we can do everything ourselves.

I'm betting our efforts will make this spot about a hundred times better this year.

Sound good!!!!wish you all the best of luck this year !!!! Im hoping to spend more time huntin some good old fashion whitetails ! Im not going to be able to put one out this year ! My best results came from trip 13 around all my oak trees ! Then I would put blends of white and red clover in the fields ! Man that triple 13 doesnt help the first year but the 2nd and 3rd years I had acorns dropping untill end of nov. And a couple of the years my friends didnt have acorns I had plenty(bow hunters dream)! It sure helped me on those bad mass years !!!!
